Photographs taken at the wedding ceremony are not listed by the registration department in the list of documents to be submitted while registering marriages and obtaining certificates. Some sub-registrars insist on submitting photographs taken at the wedding event. But as per the rules laid down by the Registration Department, it is not a proper practice to request such.   Special Marriage Act --------------------------------------- This was the first marriage law of independent India. In 1954, this Act was brought into force by the Government of India. According to this, any man or woman in any state or union territory of India (except the then Jammu and Kashmir) can marry. This law is a cross-caste marriage law. Couples may be of the same caste or religion or of different castes or religions.
