May I please know whether section 7A applies to all people of Tamil Nadu or specific sect/group/association/caste etc. ?
This amendment was made under the Hindu Marriage Act. Applicable to Hindus only. Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs and Parsis can use this law. Muslims and Christians are not eligible under this Act. All castes of Hindus can marry under this law. People belonging to different castes among Hindus can marry under this Act, even if they have inter-caste marriages. Interfaith marriages cannot be performed under this Act. www.registermarriages.in
