Simple practice in registering Christian weddings





If both the couples are Christians or have converted to Christianity from other religions, their marriage can be registered under the Tamil Nadu Marriage Registration Act and the Christian Marriage Registration Act.


If the marriage is to be registered under the Tamil Nadu Marriage Registration Act, the couple can go directly to the register office and get the marriage certificate.


Under the Christian Marriage Registration Act, there is no need to go to the Registrar's Office to register a marriage. The marriage certificate can be obtained through the appropriate, government-accredited Christian marriage registrar, either at home or from the attorney's office.


It is noteworthy that in Christian marriage registration law, such a simple procedure is not found in any other marriage registration law.
