சர்வதேச பெண்கள் தினம் - வரலாறு, நோக்கம் மற்றும் நடைமுறை

1908 ஆம் ஆண்டு, நியூயார்க் நகரில் , சுமார் 15,000 பெண்கள் ஒன்று திரண்டு பேரணி ஒன்றை நடத்தினார்கள். வேலை நேரத்தை குறைத்தல், வேலைக்கேற்ற  சம்பளம் வழங்குவது, வாக்களிக்கும் உரிமை ஆகிய முக்கிய கோரிக்கைகளை வலியுறுத்தி அந்த பேரணி நடைபெற்றது. இந்த பேரணி தான், பெண்கள் தினம் என்று ஒன்று கொண்டாடப்பட வேண்டும் என்கிற எண்ணத்தை விதைத்தது. இந்த பேரணி நடைபெற்ற அடுத்த ஆண்டு, அமெரிக்காவின் சோசலிஸ்ட் கட்சி, முதல் மகளிர் தேசிய தினத்தை அறிவித்தது. இந்த நடைமுறையை , சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினமாக மாற்றுவதற்கு, கிளாரா ஜெட்கின் என்கிற கம்யூனிச பெண்மணிதான் முதல் கட்ட வேலைகளை செய்தார். 1917 ஆம் ஆண்டு , உணவும் அமைதியும் என்கிற பெயரில் , ரஷ்யப்பெண்கள் நடத்திய புரட்சிப்போராட்டம் தான் அன்று ரஸ்யாவில் நிலவிய கொடுங்கோல் ஆட்சியை வீழ்த்துவதற்கு பெரிதும் உதவியது. இந்த போராட்டம் தொடங்கப்பட்ட நாள் தான் மார்ச் 8. 1975 ஆம் ஆண்டு  முதல், ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை, சர்வதேச பெண்கள் தினத்தை அங்கீகரித்து கொண்டாடி வருகிறது. அவ்வாறு கொண்டாடும்போது , ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் பெண்களுக்கான ஒரு கருப்பொருளை வழங்குகிறது.  "பாலின சமத்துவத்திற்கான புத...
