கிறித்துவத் திருமணங்களுக்கான அரசு திருமனச் சான்றிதழை தமிழ்நாடு திருமணப் பதிவுச் சட்டம் - 2009 மற்றும் இந்திய கிறித்துவத் திருமனச் சட்டம் - 1872 ஆகிய இரு சட்டங்களின் அடிப்படையில் பெற முடியும்.   மணமக்கள் இருவரும் கிறித்தவர்களாக இருக்க வேண்டியது அவசியம். கிறித்துவ  மத நிறுவனத்தின் திருமனச் சான்று ஆவணமாக சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். வயதுச் சான்று, திருமனச் சான்று ஆகிய திருமணப் பதிவிற்கான அடிப்படை ஆவணங்களும் சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். இந்திய கிறித்துவத் திருமனச் சட்டம் - 1872 அடிப்படையில் பதிவு செய்யும்போது தம்பதியர்கள் பதிவாளர் அலுவலகத்துக்கு நேரடியாகச் செல்ல வேண்டிய அவசியமில்லை. கிறித்துவத் திருமணங்களுக்கான உரிமம்  பெற்ற கிறித்துவ மத போதகர் மூலமாக உரிய ஆவணங்கள் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டால் போதுமானது. இந்த விதி விலக்கு வேறு எந்த திருமனச் சட்டங்களிலும் இல்லை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. www.registermarriages.in

Government marriage certificates for Christian marriages can be obtained under both the Tamil Nadu Marriage Registration Act - 2009 and the Indian Christian Marriage Act - 1872. Both the bride and groom should be Christians. A certificate of marriage from a Christian religious institution must be submitted as a document. Basic documents for marriage registration such as age proof and marriage certificate should also be submitted. Couples need not go directly to the registrar's office for registration under the Indian Christian Marriage Act - 1872. For Christian marriages it is sufficient if the relevant documents are handed over by a licensed Christian pastor. It is to be noted that this exemption does not exist in any other marriage laws. www.registermarriages.in
